Anya and the Robot Who Knew Everything: My AI Literacy Picture Book Now on Amazon
Sparky has made it to Amazon, and he is still far too sure of himself. 🤖
My new picture book, Anya and the Robot Who Knew Everything, is now available in English and a Russian–English bilingual edition.
Written for children aged 6–8 and illustrated by Lena Krapiva, it introduces artificial intelligence through a story about creativity, curiosity and the courage to think for yourself.

When Sparky arrives in Anya’s classroom, he can answer questions and create pictures in seconds. Everyone is impressed, and the children gradually leave more of the thinking to him. Anya, who loves painting, starts to wonder about the value of her own slower, messier work. Then a very confident answer about what hamsters eat gives her a reason to question him.
That tension was important to me while writing this book. When something can produce an answer or a picture almost instantly, I want children to feel that their own attempts still matter. There is something worth protecting in the time spent trying an idea, changing your mind and discovering what you actually want to make.
At the heart of the story is Look–Think–Ask, the framework I created to give children a starting point for critical thinking: notice what is happening, consider whether something makes sense, and find someone or something that can help you check.
My hope is that parents and primary-school teachers will use this book to open up conversations about AI literacy, with room for children to be curious about technology while developing confidence in their own judgement.
I’m very happy that Anya and Sparky are finally ready to meet their readers.
